Purchase automatic and semi-automatic firearms from their current owners to remove these weapons from US homes.

Recently in Australia over 600,000 guns were purchased by the government to remove them from homes. If the federal government would purchase assault weapons from owners and dispose of them, the number of assault weapons available in the US could be drastically reduced.
