Under the management of private owners, Hostess Brands, Inc. has unfortunately failed to sustain itself as a business.
If the Obama administration were to intervene in the matter and negotiate a purchase of the business from the owners and operators, the administration, as the new owner, can hand control and ownership of the business over to the Bakers Union.
The unionized workers who depend on the continued existence of the business for their livelihoods will then own and operate the business. Since the success of the business will be directly linked to the livelihoods of its new operators, the Bakers Union will be wholly determined to see the business succeed.
The government can work out a profit-sharing deal with the union until it's investment in the business is paid off.
