Purchase the site known as Wounded Knee and make it a National Monument.

Wounded Knee is the site in South Dakota on the Oglala Sioux Reservation where in 1890 American cavalry soldiers massacred 150 to 300 Oglal a Sioux men, women and children. The event signaled the end of Native American resistance to the dominating white population and government. The site is held privately and is now up for sale. Wounded Knee has immense spiritual meaning for Native Americans and is important historically, environmentally, and culturally for the American population in general. The return of these lands to the Oglala Sioux Reservation as a National Monument would be significant to all Native Americans, which is now most of us.
