My petition seeks to prevent the Wounded Knee site from being sold for commercial development, and calls on the federal government to purchase the land preserve it as a National Monument. This land is a crucial, if tragic, part of our nation's history, not to mention a sacred place to First Nations. It must be preserved to make sure what happened there is never forgotten.
