Mr. President,
Over the past few weeks, the Northeastern United States has been subjected to devastation by Hurricane Sandy. Families and Businesses, Cities and Towns, all affected by a storm that was worsened by Climate Change. As a result of this storm, and many other severe weather events across the nation, the time has come to make an aggressive effort to fight against climate change, reduce carbon emissions and other harmful pollutants, and develop what Van Jones would call, Green-Collar Jobs. Recently, 68% of Americans have said that Climate Change is a serious problem. Let's start a massive effort this term, similar to the Space Race, to combat this severe threat and save our nation and the world.
