pursue the closure of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant. The Vermont Yankee Nuclear plant.

Created by B.K. on January 28, 2013

The Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant is the exact same design as the Fukashima Di-ichi Plant that suffered severe damage caused by a tsunami on March 11, 2011. Vermont Yankee has leaked radioactive tritium into the connecticut river on several occasions. In the 2007 case where tritium had leaked into the river, fish had been confirmed as being contaminated with radioactive strontium-90. Vermont Yankee has been opened since February 28, 1973 and now it is time to let go of an old device of electricity and make way for new and more eco-friendly technologies.
