Pass a constitutional amendment to eliminate the electoral college system of electing the President and replace it with a direct popular vote.
The electoral college system of voting by state distorts the election process by increasing the influence of certain areas of the country (battleground states) at the expense of the rest of the country. Candidates would have to appeal to the country as a whole, not simply to certain areas.
