While the progressive research center, Media Matters for America, has investigated, corrected and commented on numerous knowingly false statements made by Fox News, the damage and actual malice that Fox News causes by the misinformation it propagates is beyond reparation and requires legal action, whether that be civil or criminal. Fox News does not print corrections in accordance with the precedent of Gertz v. Robert Welch, Inc. In accordance with the mes rea of New York Times v. Sullivan, it can be further proven that Fox News has intended to harm Barack Obama and the Democratic Party by mediating viewers with false information. No doubt, this particular libel warrants public concern, and it puts in question the moral turpitude of media for the majoritization of paranoid delusions.
