Pursue legislation that requires all members of Congress to read a proposed bill in its entirety prior to casting a vote

Created by D.R. on January 29, 2014

I would like President Obama to pursue legislation that requires all members of Congress to read a proposed bill in its entirety prior to casting a vote. The President will need to seek a sponsor in congress to introduce the legislation.

It is absurd that members of the Senate and House of Representatives do not read the bills on which they vote.

At the very least, accountability of government should require legislators to read and make an informed decision on the bills where they cast a vote.

Additionally, should the President veto legislation, he must read the bill in its entirety prior to executing a veto.

Those not adhering to this legislation would be held in contempt of Congress.
