pursue U.N. mechanisms for the peaceful resolution of disputes.

Created by Y.W. on September 03, 2013

We implore you to exhaust all U.N. and regional mechanisms for the peaceful resolution of disputes, including the deployment of U.N. monitors and peacekeeping forces, before using armed force. This will help to protect civilians, build coalitions for peace and a ceasefire, obtain independent information, and empower a U.N. framework that is weakened every time we by-pass its peace-building mechanisms. Support to the Syrian opposition, efforts to win congressional approval, and any other investments in this military effort are not, nor should they be, reasons for military action. Please end the cycle of violence. Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars...Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.-M.L.K. Jr.
