Push for an amendment to the Constitution that would lower the age for federal office

Created by R.S. on November 21, 2012

When we look at the chaos in Washington regarding huge policy questions such as the debt, the economy, and the world at large, one thing often overlooked is that it will be younger generations that bear the brunt of of these challenges . As Washington becomes embroiled in bitter, hyper-partisan spats, all focus is lost and the ones with the most to lose, are caught in the middle. Thus my petition so that those in my generation(who like me) are concerned about the problems facing our country can contribute as they have the greatest stake.

Some would argue that those who are 21 do not have the life experience to serve in such powerful and responsible positions, I'd point out, as an example, that the youngest President elected to date, was 43 and no one younger has since been elected.
