This is an effort to insist President Obama place extreme emphasis on H.R.4621 - Federal Employee Combat Zone Tax Parity Act.
May 2014 - "The Federal Employee Combat Zone Tax Parity Act - Amends the Internal Revenue Code to exclude from gross income, for income tax purposes, the compensation of a federal employee who served in a combat zone or was hospitalized as a result of wounds, disease, or injury incurred while serving in a combat zone."
Unfortunately, this bill has yet to make it out of the House Committee on Ways and Means, but it is gaining support among some federal employers.
If we can approve tax exclusions for civilian contractors in combat zones, why not for our federal employees serving in the very same combat zone?
A similar effort, S.1166, was attempted in July 2006.
