Push for and fund the development of thorium-based nuclear reactors

Created by N.D. on January 16, 2013

In today's world, there is a constant push for cleaner, more efficient forms of energy. Nuclear energy is seen as dangerous and potentially harmful to the environment, but not all forms of nuclear energy production are the same. Thorium reactors are believed to be an incredibly safe and more environmentally friendly form of nuclear energy production. They produces much less radioactive waste than uranium-based reactors, and they does not produce a large amount of weapons-grade byproducts. Thorium reactors would be a great investment for America, and so the Obama administration should consider urging Congress to fund research for them in the future.
