The spread of invasive personality testing (and of refusing to hire the unemployed) is having a significant deleterious effect on the economy. While businesses complain of a shortage of 'qualified workers', they have restricted themselves to the currently employed (leaving many people outside the US economy) and either use nonsense 'personality' tests or invasive 'psychometric' tests to attempt to pry into the minds of job applicants.
These tests punish those with psychiatric conditions (often violating the ADA) and skew results in favor of white males (creating, like 'IQ' tests of old, a scientific veneer for racism). In a society that recognizes that one's medical information is private, we should not countenance the use of such unethical tests.
