Push campaign finance reform

Created by H.K. on March 08, 2014

It is baffling how much is being spent to win a political campaign. Both parties may spend in excess of one billion dollars each in 2016 for the race to the White House. This has to be better controled.

I propose, instead of shady PACs, we cap the whole thing. Only people and corporations (they are people too) can donate a capped amount. Each candidate can only use a certain capped amount based on the level of government they are running for and can increase based on inflation. Any excessive use of money is hit with stiff penalties. And no secret money, ever.

The cap amounts and penalties are up for debate, but our country should no longer be for sale!
