Push Congress to create laws that allow Medicare to negotiate with drug companies the price they will pay for drugs.

Created by J.B. on March 01, 2013

Laws need to be enacted that allow Medicare to negotiate with drug companies how much they will spend on drugs. Even with Obamacare coming into effect, Congress has NOT allowed Medicare this right. This means that Medicare has to pay whatever price the drug companies set, meaning that drug companies are one of the major players who are really pushing the cost of health care up. Unless Medicare has the ability to negotiate cost, like it would in a truly free market society, Obamacare is only going to serve to provide more profit for the drug companies. Congress could fix this if they wanted. Pressure from the Obama administration needs to increase and be made public so that more people are informed. http://healthland.time.com/2013/02/20/bitter-pill-why-medical-bills-are-...
