We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Push Congress To Move Forward Bill to Create National Hate Crimes Hotline

Created by M.Y. on November 29, 2016

Since the election, there has been a reported explosion in hate crimes, the FBI has called for citizens to report them, but we currently do not have a simple way of doing that. A bill has been introduced in the House Judiciary Committee by Rep. Steve Israel to create a National Hate Crime Hotline (H.R. 6332: National Hate Crimes Hotline Act of 2016), similar to the NY state hotline that was just created. This should be a bipartisan bill, but it isn't likely to pass without serious pressure. Congress goes into recess on December 19th so we need to act fast.

Calling on the committee leadership to step up and pass this important measure - Bob Goodlatte (VA), John Conyers Jr (MI), Trent Franks (AZ), Trey Gowdy (SC), Darrell Issa (CA), Tom Marino (PA), and James Sensenbrenner (WI).
