Push your congressional representatives to repeal the 27th amendment to the United States Constitution and tie congressional pay to economic performance, job creation, and wage growth. The 28th Amendment would hereby cap congressional pay for Senators and Representatives to an annual salary, based on a 40 hour work week, of no more than three times the federal minimum wage and no less than two times the federal minimum wage. Any changes to the federal minimum wage would take effect after the next election cycle. This amendment would also restrict donations to Senators and Representatives to $2,500 per citizen per election cycle, restrict congress from writing legislation on behalf of a single corporate entity or lobbyist, and require a budget passed by July 31st of each year.
