Our electoral system is frequently exploited to keep our elected officials from truly representing the people. This can be fixed and a stronger democratic-republic will be made.
1) Eliminate the Electoral College. The President shall be decided purely by Popular Vote.
2) All Federal Elections shall utilize some method of Preferential Voting. Preferential Voting allows for a greater marketplace of ideas, encourages candidates to reach out to more voters, discourages negative campaigning, and eliminates the possibility of the Spoiler Effect. Our current First-Past-the-Post voting is deeply flawed and is rejected unanimously by academic experts in voting theory.
3) Congressional District maps shall be mandated to be generated by non-partisan means, with simplicity of shape prioritized.
