Push for the development of thorium-based nuclear energy.

Nuclear power today is designed to use fuel made primarily for weapons use. As a result the fuel and waste are highly toxic. A new technology designed specifically for energy production based on Thorium has already proven safer and more controllable than current the current standard. Furthermore the waste is orders of magnitude smaller. Other countries, including India, are already developing this technology. We need to reverse the stigma against nuclear power by educating the public about nuclear energy, its safety record (which exceeds that of coal by 4000 times), and push for research and development of new, even safer, thorium based nuclear power.
