"We the people" petition our government to pass the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, known as ENDA. It is proposed legislation before Congress that would prohibit workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. Today, it's still legal in a majority of states to be fired, harassed, demoted, or denied employment simply based on sexual orientation (29 states) or gender identity (34 states). Only a federal law prohibiting workplace discrimination can provide equal, consistent, and uniform protections for our fellow AMERICAN lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender brothers and sisters. Discrimination is antithetical to the human principles of FREEDOM, EQUALITY, and JUSTICE FOR ALL we as a nation claim to stand for! Pass ENDA in 2013!
