Push for the implementation of term limits on the U.S. Congress to prevent “Homesteading”.

Created by J.D. on January 01, 2013

Currently the Senate has unlimited 6-year terms and the House of Representatives as unlimited 2-year terms.

Lack of terms limits has allowed Senators and Representatives to spend decades in “public service” at the federal level.

Public service should be just that…service to the public. A service that shouldn’t cost taxpayers upwards of $174k a year or a lifetime pension. They should serve no more than six years and return to their regular vocation. This would help prevent the “good ole boy” networks and those like it.

To quote George Mason, "nothing is so essential to the preservation of a Republican government as a periodic rotation.
