Regardless of the economic situation, funding for science and technology innovation should be increased to meet the needs of the nation and to secure a brighter future for the American economy. If we continue to lag behind much of the rest of the developed world in STEM education and funding of new innovations, we will continue to risk losing our place as the greatest economic power the world has ever known.
