push for a law that limits income/pensions of former congressmen and presidents not in retirement age to one year

We need to limit any income/pensions of working age former congressmen and presidents to a year and at similar level to what they earned before entering into office. These incomes should help transition former members of congress and presidents back into the private sector, not cushion their lifestyles in perpetuity. As congressmen will never vote for anything that will limit their plush lifestyles, a grandfather clause can be instituted to protect current members of congress and the presidency. This would curtail excessive benefits/incomes/pensions for future members of the government that only serve as incentives for them to seek office for lifetime benefits vs a true desire for public service and assist them back into the private sector after their terms of service.
