Push legislation to change Columbus Day to Native American Day.

This petition is to push the Obama Administration to pressure congress to change Columbus Day to Native American Day. As is well documented, we celebrate Columbus Day knowing he did step foot in what is now called the United States. We currently celebrate a murderer and pillager who massacred thousands of Native peoples in the name of "discovering the New World." Given our countries past history with our own Native Americans, we should recognize these people and their struggles by abolishing a holiday named after a man, who committed what would be called atrocities today, and replace it by renaming it after Native Americans.
