At the moment, Congress (the House and Senate) is allowed any number of terms they desire, while the office of the President is limited to two, four year terms in an effort to forestall corruption. Meanwhile, Congress continues to grow stagnant and the people suffer because of political alliances and favor-exchanging.
The taxpayers also support all elected officials for the rest of their lives, regardless of how long they serve.
It is evident that limiting the term of the president has been beneficial in an attempt to stamp out corruption. It is time to take that final step, and push for legislation to limit the terms of Congress just as we have the president. Two terms, 2-4 years each, and cut off funding after they have served their term. Let them get a job like their constituents.
