Currently News Media Stations (CNN, Fox News, NBC, and other national news networks) have what they say protected under the first amendment. However, they knowingly, and willingly persuade their viewers with lies by misusing sound bites, using political bias, or flat out giving wrongful information. They mislead the American public for nothing else than to push their social agendas. For years networks have been giving knowingly conflicting information between each other and the truth. While one should not be prosecuted for a fact that is believed to be true at that point and time, a network should be held responsible for what it's anchors say when they know it is not the truth, and a network with repeated violations should have it's license revoked.
