push legislation to severely restrict invasive malware and severely fine companies that benefit from the annoying ads

Created by D.C. on March 02, 2014

Malware and viruses easily take over our computers, tablets, and smartphones, and transfers our sensitive data to groups of people who do not have our permission to retrieve it and often we are not even aware that they are accessing it. Once we become aware of the fact that our data is compromised, cleaning our systems is time consuming and expensive. There are some laws to "prevent" malware but are not enforced. I propose legislation that would severely fine any company benefiting from malware. For example, if an unwanted ad for a company pops up on my computer, that company should be fined. Stopping the authoring and distribution of malware may be tough, but if you fine the companies benefiting from it, it would slow greatly!
