Push legislation tying pay in the Legislative branch to the National Household Median

Created by J.H. on March 04, 2016

The current paycheck, cut by Americans to their federal representatives, is to the tune of $170,000+ per year.

This puts our representatives in a high tax bracket, far beyond the reach of millions of Americans.

Instead, they should be paid according to the median household income of the United States, which is around $50,000 a year.

This amount of money is representative of Americans across the country and not just the professional elites who earn much higher salaries. The fact is, most Americans fall in a low tax bracket.

Government of the people, by the people, should receive a salary of the people.

Let them work 2-3 jobs and cut corners, as they are so often glad to tell hard working Americans to do.
