Push for a new Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to mandate limits on Congress service to 2 terms.

Created by J.P. on November 12, 2012

Currently Congress can service in the House or Senate for an unlimited number of terms. This is suppose to be a public service NOT a career. As our country continues to create a division we need to ensure that fresh and new ideas can have a chance to be exposed and have a voice. As a result it is proposed to push for a limiting mandate to 2 terms of service for Congress.

Plan:

1) Pass amendment to limit terms of service to two (2).

2) Those currently in office may run for one (1) additional term as a grandfather clause to currently serving members of Congress. This would only need to be active during the first election to allow those already in service for multiple terms to run for at least one additional term. Thus granting a current term and one additional term equalling 2 terms.
