Vaccines have been shown in many studies to be safe and effective. With the increase in non-vaccination rates around the country due to personal belief exemptions, herd-immunity protection is compromised, putting those most vulnerable at risk, mainly infants and immunosuppressed people. The latest measles outbreak is a good example. Many people have fallen sick due to a preventable illness that was declared eliminated from the US in 2000. Let's not wait until more outbreaks of measles, or other diseases such as polio come back.
