Many states have 10 or 5 cent deposits on most soda cans and bottles to promote the recycling of plastic waste. However, the amount of plastic that gets recycled is not enough. The garbage patch in the Pacific Ocean has grown much bigger in the past few years and ocean life is in serious trouble if we don't do something about it soon. Recycling more is one way we can combat this issue.
