Due to the inability of the US House and Senate to work together, term limits need to be implemented without the chance of staying in office beyond 12 years. In order to be re-elected after 12 years, the member will have wait a minimum of 6 years before running for election again. The President is allotted 2 terms in office, the same rule would apply to members of the House and Senate. Congress needs to be reminded that they were elected to work for the people of the United States, not to further enhance their career. With this implementation, they would also no longer have their lifetime pensions, members will pay SS taxes on their paychecks, use the same health insurance that the American people use and have the same available 401(k) options that are afforded to US Citizens.
