Certain families may need basic firearms to feel protected, and very little damage can be done with a slow-loading weapon. When the Second Amendment was made, automatic firearms did not exist. There is only so much that could be done with a rifle that had to be reloaded after every shot. There is a reason it was made; for protection. For safety. Without automatic weapons for the general public, people cannot be killed at an alarming rate. There could still be hunting and family protection.
