Put a Cap on Graduate and Undergraduate Tuition

Higher education costs in the United States have been skyrocketing in the past decade. An undergraduate education at a public or private university that would cost between $5,000-$10,000 a year, now costs upwards from $30,000-$40,000 per year. With such a rise in costs, one would expect that the quality of education or the pay of faculty has gone up, yet this is not the case. A biology major a decade ago would still learn almost the exact same materials a biology major today would. If anything, faculty members have been laid off and fewer professors are teaching. We are asking President Obama to stop the unrestricted growth of tuition rates not only by giving more aid to students, but putting a cap on public and private tuition costs so that, education is more accessible for Americans.
