Put a cap on the salaries of U.S. senators and remove their ability to vote on their own pay raises.

As of 11/14/2012, the average salary for members of the United States Senate is $174,000 per year. Senators also retain the ability to vote to raise their own pay, which is a power no government official should have. If you asked any American to vote on whether or not they should make more money, the majority of the time you would find that they did. Also, this means that U.S. Senators could theoretically raise their pay with no limits on how much they could decide to make.
This must be stopped with a salary cap on U.S. Senators and the removal of Senators ability to decide their own pay.
