Put Congress on minimum wage, and disallow the ability of Congress to vote itself a pay raise.

Created by D.R. on March 19, 2013

It has become patently obvious that Congress holds the working people of America in contempt. Each Congressperson (House and Senate) makes a salary that starts at $174,000 per year of service, with additional benefits.

Any civilian employee of the private sector knows that, if you do not work, you do not get paid. Congress has NOT been doing its job, instead holding the good of the public they were elected to serve hostage to political ideology.

Each Congressperson is also approached by corporate lobbyists, who wield far more financial clout than the living, breathing people who elected them.

If a Congressman chooses to accept corporate donations, they should not be receiving public pay. If they choose to serve at all, then let it truly be service at common wage. End the contempt.
