put deadbeat parents in jail when they fail to pay their child support w/work release, military or community service.

Too many parents refuse to pay their court ordered child support resulting in high child poverty. Additionally, the public picks up the tab for many of these children through social programs like food stamps and medicaid. Parents need to be responsible for their own children and if they refuse that responsibility that should be put in jail for this crime, but give them work release or community service. They should be able to pay 50% of their wages toward their debt and the balance can go to pay the state for their care. If they will not work voluntarily, put them in the military.
