It is common knowledge that US currency is among the ugliest in the world: aesthetically dismal and thick with dubious men from our distant history.
To remedy this untenable situation, we propose honoring our history, and our culture, while celebrating the arts, music, fashion, and strong female role models.
We want the wild-haired, crazy-eyed racist Andrew Jackson stricken from the $20 bill and replaced with the piercing eyes and aerodynamic cheekbones of Debbie Harry, the singer of new wave/CBGB punk band Blondie. Preferably a picture from around 1979.
Debbie Harry was not only a leading light of the NY music scene, helping combine music with art and fashion, but is also an icon for when the US was supremely cool. We will be proud of our money and will be the envy of the free world.
