Put Ebola Treatment Units in shipping containers, with all protective, medical, and disinfection supplies for one person

Created by D.N. on October 10, 2014

The CDC says we need isolation beds for 100,000 people in two months, but the current US military effort to build hospitals will only provide 1,700 beds. A shipping container could serve as a prefab hospital instead. Outfit it with a bed and all the medical supplies needed to treat one person, along with air conditioning, all the protective equipment for medical personnel, fuel to burn everything later, and bleach to clean the container for reuse. Containers could be mass-produced in the US and shipped to where the patients are, rather than transporting the patients to central hospitals, at great risk to everyone involved.
