We, the People of the Cannabis Community and our supporters, are submitting this petition and demanding that cannabis - hemp, marijuana, THC and other plant parts/extracts - be exempted from the Controlled Substances Act and that all federal statutes, codes, ordinances and acts prohibiting the peaceful and responsible cultivation, use and consumption of cannabis be repealed.
We believe that our government is wasting tax payer funds and resources to punish otherwise law abiding people for crimes with no victim. We believe that the crime and violence associated with cannabis is a direct result of it's prohibition. We also believe that cannabis causes less harm than other substances on the market.
For the reasons listed above, we demand that immediate action be taken to resolve this matter.
