Put an End to the Effect of Gerrymandering on Federal Elections.

Created by R.K. on January 21, 2013

Push for an independent commission to redraw all congressional districts in all states immediately and henceforth so that elected representatives from a state accurately represent the people of that state. The practice of "packing" certain groups into districts to diminish their representation undermines fundamental principles of our republic and democracy. The practice of "cracking," which spreads a type of voter thin across many congressional districts, eliminates that group's possibility for accurate representation. For too long, major political parties have used state legislatures to undermine citizens' representation in the federal government through gerrymandering, and it needs to end now.
