The electoral college is an antiquated system from 1787. Our country is so vast that the need for the electoral college is no longer a vital part of our election process. By removing the electoral college and relying solely on the popular vote, the election process would accurately reflect the voice of the American people. This may lead to more voter turnout and restore a sense of pride in the American people during the voting process. Eliminating the electoral college from the voting process is important because it will give a valid representation of whom Americans want to be elected to lead our country.
