By removing paper and coins from Circulation and giving every registered citizen in the United States a plastic form of currency collection, much like a WIC or EBT card, it will accomplish 3 things.
1 - The current circulation of paper and coins is a biological minefield. Its removal from society will decrease the spread of many contagions.
2 - Given the general reliance of cashiers on the register to determine change as it is, this will eliminate the need for/frustration from physical exchanges of "cash back" . This will also lead to a reduction in panhandling from homeless people.
3 - By only giving a collection method to registered citizens, it will severely hamper the ability of undocumented workers to collect pay without being held accountable for taxes.
