We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Put an end to the use of lethal force by law enforcement.

Created by B.B. on July 07, 2016

The 6th Amendment of our Constitution grants ALL citizens the right to a fair trial by a jury of their peers. The 4th Amendment grants all citizens freedom from cruel and unusual punishment for their crimes. However, law enforcement officers repeatedly violate these rights by using lethal force on civilians. It is not the place of law enforcement to pass judgement on, or dole out punishment to, suspects. Their job is to investigate and apprehend. We the people ask that Congress work with the Justice Department and state Attorney Generals to nationally implement non-lethal forms of police action immediately to fully replace lethal force, and to ensure that all acts of violence against civilians by police are reviewed through independent inquiry with full public transparencies.
