It is absolutely appalling that Congress is allowed to take week-long or even two-week long recesses right in the middle of very critical and pressing issues that directly affect the welfare of American citizens, like the current issue of extending emergency unemployment benefits to over 2 million people who are struggling without them. People are getting eviction notices, cant buy food or make car payments, while Congress is enjoying week long and 2 week long vacations. This is unconscionable and it MUST stop. People are hurting and Congress doesn't care. They are sitting home enjoying themselves and enjoying their 150,000 salaries while American citizens can't feed their families and are forced to decide to live in cars or with family members.
