put an end to White House petitions

Created by S.R. on January 09, 2013

White House petitions serve no purpose other than to provide false hope for the citizens of the United States that our elected officials will take action when we figuratively raise our voices.

Much like lining up at a polling station to vote, where citizens truly believe their vote will make a difference, putting their name to a petition also provides the gratifying feeling that they are helping to make a difference.

While I am in agreement with elected officials proactively listening to the citizens and acting according to the will of the people, I feel we the people must find a better way than through a White House controlled medium.
