Put forth initiatives to require all police officers to use helmet mounted cameras that constantly record their actions.

Created by A.B. on March 05, 2013

We believe that police misconduct of all sorts can be prevented if all police officers were equipped with helmet-mounted cameras that constantly monitored their interactions while on duty. Such a plan would not only prevent any abuses by law enforcement, but would also benefit law enforcement by providing corroborating evidence against any false claims of police misconduct.

With the growing ubiquity of technology that puts video recording capabilities in the hands of everyday citizens, examples of previously denied police misconduct corroborated through video testimony have grown in rapid frequency. Having such technology always present when our public servants are engaged in their duties will not only prevent such situations, but will also bolster the public's trust in our police forces.
