Every day, 30 people die in motor vehicle accidents across the United States involving drivers under the influence of alcohol. Over 10k people in the U.S. are killed this way each year. The installation of ignition interlock breathalyzers (http://www.stopdwi.com/) in all motor vehicles would work to prevent driving under the influence of alcohol and thus prevent thousands of deaths each year.
We, the undersigned, request that this administration consider proposing legislation that would require all new vehicles manufactured to come equipped with, and enforce penalties for the removal or tampering of, such devices.
