Put forth legislation requiring all schools to employ an armed, sworn officer of the law during all hours of operation.

Created by M.Y. on December 16, 2012

Legislation should require all schools to employ the use of controlled access, video surveliance and metal detection. These security measures should be enforced by an armed, sworn officer of the law at all times. Aforementioned measures alone, while providing some degree of prevention and awareness, can not assure the same degree of effectiveness as immediate, on-site law enforcement. Average high priority emergency response times continue to rise nationally and even the most impresssive times offer little assurance in instances where minutes can mean the lives of vulnerable students, educators and administrators. Additional costs associated would surely be welcomed by tax payers and tuiton payers alike. Availability of these security measures should be a requirement for accredidation.
